Every breakup leaves a trace, and not just the memories, I mean that it’s almost impossible to destroy all those physical souvenirs. Having been involved in my share of breakups, I have agonized over what to do with old letters, concert tickets, stray scarves and silly gifts, or a postcard with a poem on it.
Years later, they still turn up in suitcases, boxes, and the back of closets. So I was delighted to hear that there is a museum in Zagreb, for just these problematic souvenirs: the Museum of Broken Relationships. Listen to this show for musical answers to this museum. Our playlist features Miranda Lambert, Brad Mehldau, the Reverend Al Green, Laurie Anderson, Tampa Red, Diana Krall, and William Bolcom.

…and here’s the actual museum in Croatia: https://brokenships.com/
and a very cool, atmospheric show about this same museum: http://www.thirdcoastfestival.org/library/1550-the-cabinet-of-animosities – beautifully romantic!
Hi Guy! I enjoy listening to your shows. Keep up the good work! all best, Eric
P.S.: You should credit lyricists where they are seriously implicated. For example, Arnold Weinstein wrote the lyrics for the Bolcom’s cabaret songs (including “Toothbrush Time”)
