Podcast: Eighth Blackbird Redux

In this episode of American Highways, pianist Guy Livingston brings us more music by the amazing Eighth Blackbird Ensemble. A year after my interview with them at the Doelen concert hall in Rotterdam, here are additional highlights of their repertoire: Music by Jacob (JC) Cooper, Ted Hearne, Robert Honstein, and Andrew Norman.

The program closes out with an historical recording of the (virtually unknown) Sonata for Piano and Percussion by Peggy Glanville-Hicks, from an Other Minds CD (not Eighth Blackbird though – they weren’t born yet!)
